Two Day High-Speed Driver's Education Track Events

Virginia International Raceway (VIR)

Summit Point Motorsports Park

  • Shenandoah Circuit, November 1-2, 2008 (Sat & Sun)

Registration

  • Registration is available for all low center of gravity makes and models (both Mazda and non-Mazda vehicle owners).
  • Membership is not required to participate and there are no fees to join MazdaDrivers.

Instructor Registration

2008 General Event Information
  • Two-day High-speed Drivers Education
  • VIR events are on Saturday and Sundays, Tech starts Friday evenings
  • Summit Point event TBD
  • Drive your own vehicle at speed in a safe controlled environment
  • Registration is available for both Mazda and non-Mazda vehicles, our events are open to all manufacturers (membership is not required).
  • Both In-car and Classroom instruction
  • High Caliber Instructors assigned to students for on-course sessions
  • Run groups and Classroom sessions tailored to experience levels
  • World-class and relatively brand new facilities
  • Classroom sessions, usually two-three on Saturday and one on Sunday morning
  • Eight ~26-27 minute on-course sessions for the weekend at VIR, eight ~23-24 minute sessions at Summit Point
  • Students divided into four run groups based on similar experience
  • Most students qualify for solo driving after demonstrating basic safety skills and appropriate on-course behavior

  • Shenandoah Circuit -- October 26-27, 2007, Friday & Saturday
    (Friday and Saturday for just the October event, all others Sat & Sun)

    • Brand new facility in 2005, 2.2 mile, 20+ turn roadcourse.
      • A technically challenging course, with significant elevation changes and banked turn
      • A no-holds-bared technical challenge that will take years to master.
      • Sporting a dimensional replica of Der Nurburgring Karousel turn at 20 degree banking, significant camber changes, including negative camber incoporated with decreasing radius corners positioned on verticle drops.
    • Bottom line, the Shenandoah is a blast to drive for both novice and experienced drivers!!

    • Registration is available for both Mazda and non-Mazda vehicle owners.
    • Register online and complete the process using PayPal.
